The First Baptist Church of Kilgore, Texas is seeking the candidate God has prepared to fill its position of Youth Pastor. This is a full-time position for a person experienced in youth ministry. Our church has a history of longevity in all ministerial positions including the youth ministry position which averages 6+ years. The Youth Pastor can expect to enjoy a fulfilling teamwork relationship with the Pastor and three other full-time ministers on staff. The youth ministry has a generous budget and enjoys a healthy relationship with the local school system. Youth ministry facilities are well equipped and being further improved with renovations underway to enhance ministry capabilities. Wednesday evening attendance has typically averaged 80-100. A master’s degree in Christian Ministry is preferred or a Bachelor’s with 3-5 years of experience.
Principal Functions:
The Youth Pastor must possess the ability to provide leadership in discipleship, ministry, counseling, and teaching of students in the ministry. The person will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive program of Christian growth, education, and discipleship for the middle school (grades 6-8), high school (grades 9-12) and college students of the church. The ministry will ensure there are opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth, discipleship, serving and experiencing Christian Community and will align with the mission, vision, and strategy of the church. The youth ministry should be recognized as an integral part of the church body as a whole.
