Director of Children’s Ministry
Job Description
The Children’s Director is a part-time position under the supervision of the Pastors and Personnel
Committee of First Baptist Church Ozark.
The Children’s Director must meet the following minimum requirements:
1. Possess a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ, children, and their families and a mature
and growing personal relationship with Christ.
2. Able and willing to become a member of First Baptist Church, Ozark.
3. Be in agreement with Baptist Faith and Message 2000
4. Previous experience working with children preferred.
5. Enthusiasm and creativity to implement the FBC Children’s Ministry
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Pray for and reach out to the families and children that attend FBC, Ozark.
2. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of children’s ministries, birth thru sixth grade, including
VBS and Children’s Camp.
3. Direct, plan, and promote a comprehensive Children’s program which will compliment and
strengthen the total ministry of the church.
4. Recruit, train, and support teachers and workers in children’s ministries.
5. Maintain schedules for teachers and workers in their various responsibilities.
6. Coordinate communication with teachers, helpers and the entire congregation.
7. Provide leadership, supervision and evaluation for teachers and workers.
8. Be able to teach and lead as needed.
9. Ensure that curriculum materials, equipment, and other supplies are available for volunteers.
10. Conduct safety and protection policies and procedures along with church office in providing
a safe environment for children.
11. Ensure that The Child Protection Policies are strictly followed.
12. Develop ways to receive input and evaluation from parents, teachers, and other church
leaders regarding children’s ministry.
13. Assist the pastors with the Outreach ministry as it relates to children and parents, as
assigned and agreed upon.
14. Attend weekly staff meetings.
15. Attend all Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday services unless requested to
be absent.
16. Submit an annual budget to the Finance Committee for church approval
17. Be willing to provide encouragement to parents of children at FBC.
Review: Yearly Potential Schedule:
Hours: 20 per week ~M-W – 9am-2pm (15 hours)
~Sunday (3 hours)
~Wednesday (2 hours)
