Pastor

Principle Function: be the servant-leader to the church using his God-given gifts to proclaim God’s Word and provide pastoral care of its members. The Pastor will be responsible for casting the vision and maintaining the mission of Ash Creek Baptist Church.

Responsibilities include the following:

1. Lead the congregation in vibrant worship services, making the Gospel relevant to people’s lives through preaching and communicating a comprehensive understanding of the Bible and Christian theology. Works with the Minister of Music and Worship in coordinating the worship services.
2. Spend quality, adequate time for study that prepares him for preaching and teaching.
3. Systematically train disciples and equip leaders for ministry through personal modeling, mentoring, and classroom instruction.
4. Supervise the Minister of Education, Minister of Music and Worship Arts, and Minister of Youth and Contemporary Worship.
5. Lead Ash Creek through personal involvement in reaching prospective members and in efforts to target and win the lost and unchurched in Azle and beyond through evangelism and missions.
6. Visit people in the midst of crisis (death, sickness, trauma, or other significant events), where pastoral care is required.
7. Participate in Associational activities as time allows and coordinate the church’s involvement in the local association.
8. Represent the church in State and National Conventions.
9. Oversee the church organization including budgets, buildings, and personnel.
