About the Position
The Worship Pastor will be responsible for leading a blended worship music program. This would be someone who has the evidence of God’s call and gifting in the area of music and worship. The ability to work with choirs (worship/ Sr. Adult), praise teams and worship band. The desire to lead a multi-generational worship gathering with a mix of contemporary and traditional music selections. A minimum of one year of previous church experience and be in agreement with the tenants of the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
Responsibilities
- Effectively lead the worship ministry teams: Choirs, Praise teams, worship band.
- Coordinate worship planning, rehearsal schedules, special events and programs related to the worship ministry.
- Responsible for working with the technology director/team in the maintenance and quality use of audio/visual/sound/lighting and live streaming of our worship gatherings.
- Help develop and utilize the gifts of God’s people in the area of worship. Creating a team atmosphere where a multi-generational group can use their musical gifts in worship
- Ensure effecting accounting and management of music copyrights and musical subscriptions.
- Develop and plan an annual budget and spending plan based on the needs of the Worship Ministry
- Select music, transitions and flow for all weekly worship gatherings.
- Assist the pastor in pastoral care to the members of the Olivet through hospital visitations, weddings, funeral services and crisis care as needed.
- Participate and contribute in all regular Staff meetings, training and retreats.
- Cooperate with the Pastor and other pastoral staff in promoting the vision and discipleship pathway vision of Olivet.
- Lead, encourage and help develop the spiritual growth and formation of the members of the worship ministry.
- Seek opportunities of continuing education and professional development.
