First Baptist Church of Blytheville, Arkansas is prayerfully seeking the man selected by God to Shepherd our church and lead us in the vision and work He has planned for us.

We are located in the northeast corner of Arkansas off I-55 about 63 miles north of Memphis, TN.  Our city is one of two county seats for Mississippi County Arkansas.  This county is the largest steel producing area in the United States.

First Baptist Church is a congregationally governed body of believers that is a member and supporter of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Founded in 1889, our weekly Sunday morning attendance is between 80-100.  We are rebounding from the Covid-19 Pandemic.  

Our church believes the Word of God is inerrant and infallible and is our standard for truth.

The applicant for this full time exempt salaried position is expected to meet these following essentials in addition to being a non-Calvinist:

Meets the qualifications of a church leader in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9.

Affirms & believes in and will support the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Has earned a minimum of a Masters degree of Divinity or Theology from a SBC seminary or an accredited seminary aligned with the SBC.

He is an ordained Southern Baptist preacher and has a minimum of five years experience as a Senior Pastor or the equivalent title.

Expected to keep normal office hours in his church office when not visiting members, visitors or the lost.

Coordinates the worship services.  The sermon, music and media should reinforce the overall focus of the service while lifting up Jesus.

In addition to being an expository preacher and teacher, he will work with the leadership and membership to fulfill the mission of the church.

Will nurture the church membership by discerning God's leading, by resolving theological issues and shall be vigilant in protecting the flock from false

teachings or doctorines.

He is to be either the husband of one living wife or single, but has not been divorced.

Will abide by our church constitution and bylaws.

Gives full support to the unified operating budget of First Baptist Church and will avoid soliciting or expending funds not previously authorized.

He will cooperate with the Deacons and committees of the church.

While loving and getting to know all the members of the church, he will also visit the members, the hospitalized, those grieving, the homebound members

and visitors.

Has successfully overseen and managed a church staff of five or more staff members.

He (and his family) is expected to support and participate in the activities of the church.

Will strongly support the Southern Baptist Convention, the Arkansas State Baptist Convention, the Mississippi County Baptist Association and the

Cooperative Funds of each group.

The total annual salary package will be negotiable depending on the applicant's experience and education.
