Daycare Director-- West Side Christian Daycare
West Side Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas is looking for a full-time Daycare Director for our West Side Christian Daycare. As our Daycare Director, you will have the opportunity to lead a safe, vibrant, and Christ-centered ministry to our children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active participation in a local church.
- Provide spiritual care and guidance to our children, families, and daycare workers.
- Work with the church staff in implementing the vision of West Side Baptist Church into our Daycare ministry.
- Work with our Church Daycare Board in implementing policies and procedures for our Daycare operation.
- Command the daily operations of our Christian Daycare, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and curriculum development.
- Guarantee compliance with all state and federal regulations, which includes the Department of Education, minimum licensing requirements, and the Department of Health (Servsafe).
- Guarantee compliance with our center's policies and procedures.
- Craft and execute a developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to meet the needs of all children.
- Offer continuous training and support to our dedicated staff, ensuring top-notch care and education for our young learners.
- Cultivate positive relationships with parents and families through regular communication and involvement in center activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on enrollment, attendance, and other administrative tasks.
- Manage center resources like supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure safety and quality.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and trends in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- A love for the Lord and for people.
- Directors shall be twenty-one years of age or older, and provide documentation of one of the following educational levels:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university
- Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field from a regionally accredited college or university plus one of the following: Four years of experience in early childhood education; Child Development Associate Credential (CDA); or Birth – Pre-K Credential
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field, plus six years of experience in Early Childhood Education
- Eight years of experience in Early Childhood Education and completion of one of the following, within two years of employment: Child Development Associate Credential; Birth – Pre-K Credential; Director’s Credential or the equivalent; or Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
- Experience in a leadership role in an early childhood center or preschool.
- Robust knowledge of child development, early childhood education, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate staff to provide top-quality care and education for children.
- Aptitude for multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
